Inspector Notes
A renewal inspection was initiated and concluded on 4/18/2022. There were a total of 32 children present during the inspection, ranging in ages from 1 year old to 4 years old, with between 4 (during nap) and 6 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 3 child records and 3 staff records were reviewed. Medication, medication authorizations, allergy plans and incident reports were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.
Violations
3Evidence:
When the most recent fire inspection for the facility was requested, staff #1 provided a fire inspection which was dated 1/8/2020. When asked if an annual fore inspection had been conducted since then, staff was not able to provide any more recent inspection documentation.
In addition, the fire Marshal's office will be contacted annually, well in advance of the anniversary of the previous inspection, to request that a new annual inspection be conducted.
Evidence:
The water temperature at the handwashing sink in the toddler classroom measured 121.3 degrees Fahrenheit when allowed to run for a few minutes and was then measured with a digital thermometer.
The water temperature at the handwashing sink in the three year old classroom measured 127.4 degrees Fahrenheit when allowed to run for a few minutes and was then measured with a digital thermometer.
The water temperature at the handwashing sink in the four year old classroom measured 124.7 degrees Fahrenheit when allowed to run for a few minutes and was then measured with a digital thermometer.
Evidence:
The documentation in the emergency drill log book did not contain an entry documenting a lockdown drill in the past 12 month period.
The program director was also unable to locate documentation that a lock down drill had been practiced in the last 12 months.
The log is set up now for clearly documenting the various types of drills. A lockdown drill will be practiced within 30 days and documented in the log book.
