Inspector Notes

A monitoring inspection was conducted on 02/22/2023. There were 22 children present with 4 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 5 child records and 3 staff records were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program and discussed with the program director and plans of correction were obtained during the exit interview.

Based upon observation, the facility has not ensured that hazardous substances are kept in locked locations using safe locking methods that prevent access by children.
Evidence:
There was a container of spray disinfectant on a shelf in an unlocked staff restroom upstairs between the two children's classrooms.
Plan of Correction: The facility responded with the following:
The disinfectant was immediately moved to the locked storage cabinet. All staff will be reminded to be vigilant when ensuring all potentially hazardous substances are kept in locked areas when not in direct use.

Based upon review of records, the facility has not ensured that the documentation of emergency evacuation includes all required information.

the record for the evacuation drill conducted in January 2023 did not include the notification method and the time it took to evacuate.
