Inspector Notes

An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today between the hours of 12:15 pm through 1:45 pm. There were a total of six children (16 points) observed with two caregivers. A total of four children's files and five staff/household member's files were reviewed. The children were engaged in the following: diaper changing, handwashing, lunch, and nap time. Standard 8VAC20-800-500-C
Based on observation, stationary outdoor equipment was installed over concrete and not placed six feet from the other perimeter of other play structures.
Evidence:
1. Six plastic outdoor play equipment pieces were placed on concrete and within three feet of each other in the back yard.

Standard 8VAC20-800-770
Based on observation and interview, a working portable battery operated weather band radio was not kept in a designated area and made available to caregivers at all times.
Evidence:
1. A portable battery operated weather band radio was not available. A crank radio that required charging by electricity was available. The crank radio did not operate by batteries.
2. Caregiver #1 stated that the crank radio that required charging by electricity was the only radio available at the time of the inspection.
Plan of Correction: A battery operated weather radio will be purchased.

Based on observation, the menu for the current one week period was not posted.
Evidence:
1. The menu for the current week was not posted.
