Inspector Notes

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on 3/17/2021 and concluded on 03/23/2021. The director was contacted by phone to initiate the inspection. There were 43 children present and 11 staff present. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The inspector reviewed three children?s records and three staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with the applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The licensing inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Based on record review, the center did not complete all of the out of state required background checks.
Evidence:
1. The inspector reviewed three staff records. Two of the three (#1 and #3) did not contain out of state sex offender check. The staff record was missing the out of state central registry check.
Plan of Correction: The director will complete the required checks and review all the staff files to see if any other staff need out of state background checks.
