Inspector Notes

A monitoring inspection was conducted on 3/3/2023. There were a total of 4 children (10 points) observed with 1 caregivers present. The children were engaged in the following: toy play, games, movie time, snack, bathroom breaks, and hand washing. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, personnel and household members, physical environment, care of children, handwashing, diapering, medication, emergencies and nutrition. A total of 4 child records and 2 caregiver/household member records were reviewed. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Standard 8VAC20-800-180-A
Based on a review of caregiver and adult household member files, the provider did not obtain for each household member a current Report of Tuberculosis Screening form, every two years from the date of the first screening.
Evidence:
Household #1 had a TB test dated 11/21/2020.
Plan of Correction: We will schedule the TB test.
Standard 8VAC20-800-280
Based on observation, potentially poisonous substances, such as cleaning agents, were not stored away from areas inaccessible to children.
Evidence:
During a walk through of the child care area there was a tub of Clorox wipes located on a lower shelf of a rolling cart by the steps.
Plan of Correction: I will move the Clorox wipes.

Based on a review of child files, the children's records did not contain all of the required information.
Evidence:
1 of 4 child files checked only had one emergency contact listed.
Plan of Correction: I will get another emergency contact.
Standard 8VAC20-800-780-B
Based on a review of child files, annually, the provider did not get the update for emergency contacts.
Evidence:
1 of 4 child files reviewed did not have documentation of an annual update.
Plan of Correction: I will have the mom sign the annual update.
