8 VAC 20-790 Subsidy Program Vendor Requirements for Family Day Homes

During the inspection, the inspector reviewed the areas listed above to include standards found out of compliance during the previous inspection. Unless otherwise noted as a violation within this inspection report, the provider was in compliance with the standards reviewed. Inspector Notes

A subsidy health and safety inspection (SHSI) was conducted in conjunction with the licensing inspection. Subsidy standards that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this SHSI.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Within the first 90 days of employment or service all caregivers shall complete Virginia Preservice Training for Child Care Staff sponsored by the Department of Education.

Staff #2 did not have a certificate of completion for the 10-hour Virginia Preservice Training. Staff #2 has been employed with the Family Day Home (FDH) for the past 9 months.
Plan of Correction: I did not know that this training was required for assistants. It will be completed by Staff #2.

All caregivers shall have within 90 days of employment a current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) appropriate to the ages of children in care.

The current CPR certification for Staff #2 has expired.
