A monitoring inspection was initiated on 10\23\2021 and concluded on 11/15/2021. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 18 children present and 3 staff. The inspector emailed the director/provider a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 5 children?s records and 4 staff records, along with any requested program records submitted by the facility to determine if required documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.
Violations
1Evidence:
1.There was an epipen stored for emergency administration to child 2. The epipen expired on 5/20/2021.
2. Staff 4 confirmed that the epipen for child 2 was expired.
The epipen will be returned to the parent. Emergency procedures will be developed with the parent until the epipen prescription can be renewed.
Our medication procedures will be followed to ensure that the expiration dates on medications are routinely checked. Parents will be notified prior to the expiration of the medication so that refills can be obtained and brought to the facility.
