Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on June 21, 2022 from 1:18 pm until 2:30 pm. At the time of the inspection19 children were present with four staff. Two children's records, and four staff's records were reviewed/updated. Posted information, safety equipment (first aid kit, flashlight and radio) and available documents were observed/reviewed. The facility was observed to be clean and supplied with a variety of age/stage appropriate learning and play materials/toys. Exceptions to compliance with the licensing standards were noted on the accompanying violation notice.

Based on record review, staff did not complete the Virginia Department of Education-sponsored orientation course within 90 calendar days of employment.
Evidence:
1.The record for Staff #1 (start date 12/10/2021) did not contain documentation that certifies that the Virginia Department of Education-sponsored orientation course had been completed. 2. Administration confirmed that Staff #1 has not completed the course.
Plan of Correction: The staff member will begin taking the 10 hour course and finish it as soon as possible. All new staff hired in will take the 10 hour orientation training within the 90 days of their hire date.
