Inspector Notes

An unannounced, on-site renewal inspection was conducted on 7/18/24, from 12:10 pm to 1:15 pm. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were 7 children present and 2 caregivers; the point total was 20. The inspector reviewed 3 children?s records and 2 staff records on-site. This inspection included:
? document review emergency drill logs, attendance, emergency preparedness plan.
? tour of the family day home.
Children were observed drinking milk, listening to music and getting ready for nap time.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard 22.1-289.036-A
Based on records review, the family day home did not obtain results of a repeat central registry search (CRS) for the applicant every five years.
Evidence: Caregiver # 1's most recent CRS was completed on 5/21/19. The search was not repeated in 5 years.
Plan of Correction: The CRS will be submitted and licensing will be informed as soon as the results have returned.
Standard 8VAC20-800-60-B
Based on records review, children's records were not complete.
Evidence:
1. Child # 1's was missing the following: liability insurance form, information for an emergency contact, persons authorized to pick up.
2. Child # 2's record was missing the following: liability insurance form and medical insurance policy number.
3. Child # 3's record was missing the medical insurance policy number.
Plan of Correction: All the missing information will be obtained from the parents.
Standard 8VAC20-800-960-E
Based on observation, bottles were not labeled with the full name and date.
Evidence: One infant milk bottle was found in the fridge with no name and date.
Plan of Correction: Bottles will be checked for complete labeling.
