Inspector Notes
An unannounced complaint inspection was initiated on 02/13/2024 at 10:00 am and completed on 02/13/2024 at 1:25 pm.
The complaint alleged non-compliance in the areas of staff-to-child ratio, behavior guidance and physical plant safety & cleanliness. The allegations regarding behavior guidance and physical plant safety & cleanliness could not be substantiated therefore these allegations are found to be not valid.
The facility was found to be out of compliance with the required staff-to-child ratios in one classroom. This violation is listed on the violation notice issued to the facility and was reviewed with the program director at the conclusion of the inspection.
Violations
1*16 months up to 24 months = 1:5
*2 year olds = 1:8
3 year olds up to school age eligible = 1:10
Evidence:
1. One staff ( staff 1) was observed alone with a group of 12 children ages 22 months, 2 years, 3 years and 4 years when the inspector arrived at 10:00am.
a. Three staff were needed as the youngest child in the group was under the age of 24 months.
2. Staff 2 stated that staff 1 was alone with this group of children and that no additional staff were present to assist staff 1.
3. An additional staff person ( staff 3) arrived at approximately 10:15 am to assist staff 1.
The director and staff will make sure that all children will all be in their group age with staff ratio, as should apply, unless an additional staff member can be present in the time of activity.
