Inspector Notes

An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted on January 19, 2023. There were 65 children with 13 staff supervising. The physical plant, children's records, staff records, attendance logs, evacuation logs, menu's cribs, bottles, emergency preparedness procedures and first aid kits were reviewed. The children were observed eating morning snack, singing songs and staff interacting with staff. Areas of non-compliance were cited on the Violation Notice. Based on observation, the center failed to ensure that hazardous substances such as cleaning materials shall be kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children.

Evidence:
In the toddler classroom, the cabinet containing cleaning supplies was unlocked and accessible to children.
Plan of Correction: The cabinet was locked during the inspection. The Director will remind all staff that cabinets containing cleaning supplies must remain locked and inaccessible to children.
