Inspector Notes

A subsidy health and safety (SHSI) inspection was initiated and concluded on 4/13/2022. There were 3 daycare children and 2 additional children present with the vendor supervising. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date. Both inspections combined cover subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Violations

1
Standard 8VAC20-790-280-A
The Vendor did not ensure that the home has sinks located near the toilets that are supplied with running warm water that does not exceed 120?F.
Evidence:
The water temperature at the sink in the restroom that children use while in care measured 150.8 degrees Fahrenheit with a digital thermometer during the inspection.
Plan of Correction: The vendor will adjust her hot water heater to under 120 degrees Fahrenheit. The provider will continue to monitor children's hand washing and will adjust the water to a safe temperature before the children put their hands under it.
