Inspector Notes

This renewal inspection was initiated by licensing staff and concluded on 04/07/2023, between the hours of 9:30 am to 11:30 am. There were 2 toddler-age children present (6 points), with 1 caregiver supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration; physical plant; staffing and supervision; programming; medication; special care and emergencies; and nutrition. A total of 2 children records, 1 household record, and 1 staff record was reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined that there were (2) non-compliances with the applicable standards. These violations were documented on the Violation Notice issued to the home.

Standard 8VAC20-800-830-B
Based on review, shelter-in-place procedures were not practiced a minimum of twice per year.

Evidence -
1. On the date of inspection (04/07/2023), there was not a shelter-in-place drill practiced in 2022.
2. On the drill log for 2022, shelter-in-place was not recorded as practiced. The Provider confirmed that these drill were not conducted.
Plan of Correction: At least 2 shelter-in-place drill will be conducted in 2023.
Standard 8VAC20-800-830-C
Based on review and interview, documentation was not maintained of emergency evacuation (fire) drills for 2023 (Jan., Feb, Mar.).

Evidence -
1. On the date of inspection (04/07/2023), the drill log for 2023, was left blank for the past months of January, February, and March of 2023.
2. The Provider stated (during an interview conducted on the date of inspection - 04/07/2023) that while these drill were conducted, they were not recorded in the posted drill log.
