Inspector Notes

An unannounced Subsidy Health and Safety Inspection (SHSI) was conducted on 9/22/22 from 5:05pm to 5:50pm in conjunction with a monitoring inspection (see that inspection report for details). The two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Three staff records were reviewed for documentation of the mandatory Virginia Preservice Training, Health and Safety Update Training, and current certification in First Aid and CPR. There are children currently enrolled with diagnosed food allergies and their records were reviewed for allergy care plans. The last lockdown drill was documented on 9/13/22. Based on review of three staff records, the center did not ensure that all staff who work directly with children obtained current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and first aid within 90 days of the date of employment. Evidence: The CPR and First Aid certification on record for Staff B, with a start date of 4/7/22, was dated 8/6/22.
