Inspector Notes

An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today between 1:45pm and 2:30pm. There were 3 children present with the Provider for a total of 6 points within the supervision guidelines. The children were observed playing freely and resting. A complete inspection of the physical plant, children and staff records, fire drill log, menu, attendance and emergency procedures were observed during this inspection. Violations were found during today?s inspection and can be viewed on the Violation Notice.

Standard 8VAC20-800-340-C
Based on observation, the bathroom did not contain all required supplies.
Evidence: The children's bathroom did not contain paper towels.
Plan of Correction: I will give it to them now.
Standard 8VAC20-800-50-C
Based on observation, information contained in children's records was not kept confidential.
Evidence: The Supplemental form, containing information from children's records, from the most recent inspection was posted on the wall.
Plan of Correction: Corrected during the inspection.
Standard 8VAC20-800-760-A
Based on observation, all required emergency supplies was not available in the family day home.
Evidence: The providers first aid kit did not contain gauze pads, tape and disposable gloves.
Plan of Correction: I'll get it today.
Standard 8VAC20-800-770
Based on interview, a working battery-operated radio and flashlight were not available at all times.
Evidence: The provider attempted to turn on their battery-operated radio and it did not work. The provider stated that they did not have a working flashlight.
Plan of Correction: The batteries for the radio are supposed to be rechargeable. I'll fix it today. I'll get a new flashlight.
