Inspector Notes

A renewal inspection was conducted on March 8, 2023 between the hours of 9:00am and 12:00pm. There were 66 children present, with 16 staff supervising within the supervision guidelines. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 7 child records and 4 staff records were reviewed. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard 8VAC20-780-130-A
Based on record review, the center did not obtain documentation that each child has received the immunizations required before the child attends the center.
Evidence: Child #2 Date of enrollment is 12/13/21 and the first immunization documentation is dated 9/9/22.
Plan of Correction: I will ensure we have immunizations on the first day going forward.
Standard 8VAC20-780-500-B
Based on observation, the diapering surface was not sanitized after each use.
Evidence: 1. The diapering surface in the Infant-B classroom was not sanitized after each use.
2. The diapering surface was only cleaned with soap and water after each use.
Plan of Correction: I will retrain my teachers the proper procedures and ensure everyone sanitize the diapering area.
Standard 8VAC20-780-520-C
Based on observation, a diaper ointment cream was not in the original container and labeled with the child's name.
Evidence: A tube of Lanolin Cream was not in the original container and was not labeled with a child's name (Toddler classroom, ages 1-2 years, room #11).
Plan of Correction: We will be sure all creams are label. Violation corrected during the inspection.
