Inspector Notes

0A monitoring inspection was conducted on 10/25/22 from 10:50 am to 11:45 am. There was 1 child present (4 points) with 1 caregiver supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, special care and emergencies and nutrition. There were no medications on site. 1 child's record, 1 household member's and 1 caregiver's record was reviewed. Emergency drills were current.

Standard 8VAC20-800-180-A
Based on records review, the provider did not obtain for each adult household member a current Report of Tuberculosis (TB) Screening form, every two years from the date of the first screening.
Evidence: Household Member # 1's TB screening expired on 8/30/22.
Plan of Correction: A new TB screening will be obtained.
Standard 8VAC20-800-70-A
Based on record review, a child's record was not complete.
Evidence: Child # 1's record was missing the parent's signed acknowledgement of receipt of the family day home's information as required by 70-A.
Plan of Correction: The missing information will be collected from the parent.
Standard 8VAC20-800-750-A
Based observation and staff interview, the provider did not obtain written parental authorization to administer topical ointments.
Evidence:
1. A jar of Vaseline and a tube of diaper ointment was found in the daycare area.
2. The provider stated that both items belonged to Child # 1. The provider stated that she had used the diaper ointment previously but discontinued use of the cream.
3. The provider stated that she did not obtain from Child # 1's parent, written authorization for the Vaseline or the diaper rash cream.
Plan of Correction: The authorization will be obtained.
