Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on 8/18/22 from 2:30pm to 3:40pm with the provider and one assistant. Initially there were seven children in care with the assistant; children ranged in age from 14-months to four-years-old, for a total of 16 points. The provider arrived at approximately 2:45pm with one child who was three-months-old, bringing the total to 20 points with the provider and assistant. Children were observed napping, waking and using the restroom or being changed and washing hands, then having a snack and having some learning and worksheets time. Four child records, the provider record, one assistant record, and three household member records were reviewed. The provider and assistant have current certification in CPR and First Aid. The provider reported there was no medication on site for children. Snack served was goldfish and fresh apples. The emergency drill log, attendance, and menu were also reviewed. If you have questions regarding this inspection, please contact the Licensing Inspector, Laura Brindle, at laura.brindle@doe.virginia.gov or 540-905-2062.

Evidence: Household Member C turned 18-years-old on 3/27/22. The provider reported that Household Member C has not yet completed a TB test or screening.
