Inspector Notes

The licensing inspector conducted a monitoring inspection on Monday, August 22, 2022. The inspection begin at 11:30 AM and concluded at 1:08 PM. The children were observed napping and being fed. Today, there were 2 children, totaling 8 points, present with one caregiver. Two children?s records, one caregiver?s record, and one household member?s record were reviewed during the inspection. The children?s play area, restroom, kitchen were inspected. The required postings were reviewed and found to be in compliance. The first aid kit, emergency supplies, daily attendance, fire and shelter-in-place drills were reviewed. Last emergency drill: 7/12/22 and Shelter-in-place drills: 1/10/2022. There were violations cited during today?s inspection.

Standard 8VAC20-800-520-A
Based on observation and caregiver?s statement, a crib was not provided for an infant birth through 12months of age for sleeping. Evidence: Child #1 was placed on a mat for sleeping during rest time. The child should have been in a crib.
Plan of Correction: Provider will put in place 2nd crib.
Standard 8VAC20-800-60-B
Based on record review, child?s records were incomplete. Evidence: Child #1 was missing name, address and telephone number for 1 of 2 designated persons to contact in case of an emergency if the parent cannot be reached.
Plan of Correction: Provider will inform the parent of 2nd emergency contact
Standard 8VAC20-800-800-B
Based on record review and interview, the provider did not ensure to review the emergency preparedness plan at least annually and document the review in writing. Evidence: 1. The emergency preparedness plan contained a review that was signed and dated on 3/6/2020. This is a repeated violation.
Plan of Correction: Provider will update emergency preparedness.
