8VAC20-790 Subsidy Program Vendor Requirements for Family Day Homes

A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on 7/26/2023 to review supplemental health and safety requirements. An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today from 11:15am-12:55pm. There were 8 children (21 points) directly supervised by 3 staff. The home, 3 staff records, 5 children?s records, 2 household member?s records, cribs, evacuation drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. There were no medications on site today. Children were observed playing freely and singing. There was an adequate supply of books, toys, and materials for the children. Both inspections combined cover subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy regulations that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Staff #3's record did not include a Virginia Preservice Training for Child Care Staff certificate of completion. The staff member has been working for the family day home since December 2016.
