Violations

2
Standard 22.1-289.057-D
The program has chosen, at this time, to use bottled water instead of testing potable water for lead. The program is required to notify VDH and the parent of each child enrolled in the program and to use water from USDA approved sources for human consumption.

The program did not have evidence of required notifications to the parent of each child enrolled in the program. The program did not have evidence of using water from USDA approved sources for human consumption.
Plan of Correction: I did not realize we had to use bottled water for handwashing. We plan to collect the water Friday morning, 1/15/25 and will mail the bottles to the lab for water testing. We will notify parents that we are using bottled water for human consumption until the water is tested. We will send the test results to VDH once we receive them.
Standard 8VAC20-780-290-A-3
In areas used by preschool age or younger children, electrical outlets shall have protective covers. The Under the Sea classroom, ages 2.5 to 3 years, had a surge protector that had 5 uncovered electrical outlets within reach of children.
Plan of Correction: Protective covers were placed on the uncovered outlets. Teachers have been reminded to ensure all electrical outlets have protective covers at all time.
Violation corrected during the inspection.
