A renewal inspection was conducted on 11/10/2022. There were 3 children present and 2 caregivers. A tour of the home was conducted, in addition to a record review and interviews with staff. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Based on a record review the licensee did not ensure all required background checks were complete.
Evidence:
The licensee did not have documentation of a repeat central registry check for Household/Caregiver #1 and #2's. Both checks expired on 01/25/2022.

Plan of Correction: This was an oversight. The licensee has already sent for the central registry checks and is waiting for them to come back.

Based on observation the licensee did not ensure all areas of the home, inside and outside were maintained in a safe condition.
Evidence:
1. The swing set in the backyard was not stable. One of the supports was not secured.
2. The wooden play set had a missing bolt that attached the slide to the structure.
Evidence:

Plan of Correction: The swing set will be removed. The manufacturer of the wooden playset will be contacted to see see how the bolt on the slide can be replaced. In the meantime, children will not use this piece of equipment.

Based on observation the licensee did not ensure all sharp objects were inaccessible to children.

There was a hatchet laying in the grass in the backyard where the children play.

Plan of Correction: The hatchet was removed immediately from the backyard and put in a place inaccessible to children.

Plan of Correction: The chimney has never been used since moving into the home. An inspection will be scheduled as soon as possible.
