Inspector Notes

An unannounced subsidy inspection was conducted on 6/14/231:05 pm to 2:00pm. There was 1 child (1 point) in care with the vendor. 1 record for the vendor, 1 child's record, training certificates, and drill records were reviewed to ensure compliance with the health and safety regulations. A walk through if the family day home was conducted. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Standard 8VAC20-790-180-B
Based on records review, the vendor did not maintain a written hard copy record of daily attendance that documents the arrival and departure of each child in care as it occurs. Evidence: The vendor only had written attendance for children in care through August 2022. No written attendance was maintained after that date.
Plan of Correction: Written attendance will be documented.
Standard 8VAC20-790-270-A
Based on observation, potentially poisonous substances, materials, and supplies such as, but not limited to, cleaning agents, disinfectants, and medications were not stored away from food in areas inaccessible to children.
Evidence: Bottles of disinfectant sprays and cleaners, and bottles of pain and fever reducing medication for adult and children and vitamins were sitting on the kitchen countertop, accessible to children.
Plan of Correction: All items will be removed and kept in a place that are not accessible to children.

Based on records review, shelter in place drills were not practiced twice a year.
Evidence: There was no documentation of shelter in place drills as the evacuation drill logs were being reviewed.
Plan of Correction: Drills will be completed and documented.
