Inspector Notes

A complaint inspection was conducted on November 7, 2022, from 7:50am to 9:05am in response to a complaint that was received by the department on September 22, 2022, regarding allegations in the care of the children at the center. Staff were interviewed, documentation was reviewed, classroom observations were completed, and a tour of the facility was conducted. The evidence gathered during the inspection determined non-compliances with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. The violations were discussed with the center?s Director at the exit interview.

Based on observation and interview, it was determined that the center did not ensure that children of the ages from 16 months up to 24 months have the ratio in their classroom of 1 staff member to 5 children.
Evidence:
1. In the toddler classroom, ages 16 months to 24 months, the classroom ratio at 7:55am was 1 staff member to 6 children which is outside of the ratio requirements.
2. Staff #2 confirmed that there were 6 children in their care which was out of ratio and over by one child.
Plan of Correction: The center responded with the following: The center will ensure that the ratio to each classroom is correct and will adjust children and staff ratios accordingly especially during drop off.

Evidence:
1. In the 2 year old classroom, the classroom ratio was 7:55am was 1 staff member to 9 children which is outside of the ratio requirements.
2. Staff #3 confirmed that there were 9 children in their care which was out of ratio and over by one child.
