8VAC20-790 Subsidy Program Vendor Requirements for Family Day Homes
Inspector Notes
An unannounced annual Unlicensed Subsidy Health and Safety (USHSI) inspection was conducted on 07/19/2023. There were 5 children (9 points) present with the vendor including the vendor's own child.
The home, staff / children/ household member?s records, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. A total of 4 child records, Vendor's record, and 4 household records were reviewed to ensure compliance with the health and safety regulations. The vendor completed 22 hours of annual training, having exceeded the 16 hours that are required.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Violations
5Evidence:
1) In the daycare bathroom, areas with rust were observed on the side of the bathtub and on a heater vent cover. Children have access to these areas.
Evidence:
1) On the date of inspection, 3 electric outlets in the living room area did not have protective covers.
Evidence:
1) On the date of inspection, bottles of shampoo, sanitizer, facial cleanser, hand creams, and deodorizers were observed in areas accessible to the children: under the bathroom sink, in the bathtub area, on a table next to the television.
Evidence:
1) On the date of inspection, Child #4 (23 mos) was observed sleeping on the sofa.
Evidence:
1) The drills log for the year 2022 was not available for review. Compliance for the year 2022 could not be established.
