Inspector Notes

An unannounced focused monitoring inspection was conducted from 9:30 - 11:00am with the director. There were 117 children present with 15 staff supervising. Infant care was observed and older children were engaged in circle time activities, playing on the playground and in the gym, working in structured centers, and completing arts and crafts projects. Three staff records were reviewed along with the written daily attendance and written allergy list. Diapering procedures and ratios were observed. Based on observation, interview and a review of documentation, the facility failed to maintain a written record of daily attendance that documents the arrival and departure of each child in care as it occurs. Evidence: there was no attendance list with the Before/After A class located in the gym. Staff acknowledged that they didn?t have it. In the preschool B classroom there were 11 children listed on the attendance record but only 10 children observed in the classroom.
