8VAC20-790 Subsidy Program Vendor Requirements for Family Day Homes
Inspector Notes
An unannounced subsidy health and safety inspection was conducted on March 4, 2024, beginning at 9:50am and ending at 11:30am. There were no children in attendance at the time of the inspection. The vendor's record, training certificates, daily attendance, children's records, household members records, emergency procedures, and first aid supplies were reviewed. The home and outside play area was inspected. No medication on sight. The information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or laws and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the vendor. 1. The twin mattress used for Child #4 did not have a waterproof material cover.
Evidence: The flashlight was corroded with rust and would not work when new batteries were installed.
Evidence: The battery-operated radio was corroded with rust and would not operate after installing new batteries.

1. The last documentation of an evacuation drill was dated 5/12/23.
2. The vendor acknowledged the evacuation drills had not been completed.
