Inspector Notes

A subsidy health and safety (SHSI) inspection was conducted on June 20, 2024. There were two children in care. Subsidy requirements and background checks were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable requirements and law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Violations were discussed with the provider during the exit interview.

Based on record review the provider did not ensure that there was documentation of tuberculosis screening results in the staff record.
Evidence:
1. The record for the provider did not contain documentation of a tuberculosis screening.

Based on observation and interview, the provider did not ensure that potentially poisonous substances, materials and supplies such as cleaning agents, disinfectants, deodorizers, plant care chemicals and pesticides be stored away from food in areas inaccessible to children.

1. A bottle of toilet bowl cleaner with the label ?keep out of reach? was on the floor of the bathroom that the children use.
2. The provider confirmed that the toilet bowl cleaner was stored on the floor.

Based on observation and interview, the provider did not ensure that medications for children in care shall be kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children.
Evidence:
1. Prescription medication for child #1 was unlocked and stored on the kitchen counter and accessible to children.
2. The provider confirmed that the medication was unlocked and accessible.
