Inspector Notes

A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on 11/3/2023 to review supplemental health and safety requirements. An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today from 2:00pm-4:00pm. There were 41 children (infants-school age) directly supervised by 6 staff. The physical plant, 5 staff records, 5 children?s records, medications, evacuation drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed participating in group play, napping, playing outside, and eating snack. There was an abundant supply of materials for the children. Staff-to-child ratios were in compliance. Both inspections combined cover subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy regulations that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Based on review of staff records and interview, the center did not ensure that all staff who work directly with children have a current CPR certification within 90 days of employment.

Evidence:
1. Staff #5's record does not include a CPR certification. The staff member's first day of employment was documented as 6/28/2023.
2. Staff #1's CPR certification expired on 3/11/2023.
3. Staff #2's CPR certification expired on 10/6/2023.
Plan of Correction: Staff #5, Staff #1 and Staff #2 are currently signed up for a CPR and first aid class.
