Inspector Notes
An unannounced Monitoring inspection was conducted today. A total of 9 children (20pts) with the Provider and 1 Assistant was present during the inspection. At the beginning of the inspection, the children were free playing in the program space with 3 children seated at a table with the Provider completing making fish bowls with their painted handprint out of construction paper. The children went on a recent field trip to buy a new fish for the fish tank. The transition from morning activities to lunch was observed. The children took turns lining up to wash their hands at the sink. They enjoyed the light up faucet that flashed colors while the water was running. They sat at the table as the staff prepared and served their lunch. Lunch today was homemade epanadas, carrots and fresh bananas with milk to drink. Staff assisted the children with washing hands and changing to prepare for nap time. The older children volunteered to lay out the cots as the children used the bathroom and prepared for nap. Observation of the entire program space was made which included the crib room and bathroom and furnace room. Both the children and staff have remained the same since the last inspection. The previous violations were reviewed and the corrections were verified. This inspection occurred between 12pm and 1:30pm. Thank you for your cooperation today. Please email me at: lisa.hudson@doe.virginia.gov with any questions.
