Inspector Notes

This Subsidy Health and Safety Inspection (SHSI) was initiated by licensing staff and concluded on 05/01/2024, between the hours of 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm. There were 4 children present (13 points), with 2 caregivers supervising. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date. Both inspections combined cover subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection.

Information gathered during the inspection determined (1) non-compliance with the applicable standards. This violation was documented on the Violation Notice issued to the home.

Based on review and interview, 1 of 2 staff files indicated that within the first 90 days of employment a caregiver did not complete Virginia Preservice Training for Child Care Staff (10-hour) sponsored by the Virginia Department of Education.

Evidence -
1. On the date of inspection (05/01/2024), a certificate of completion for Staff #2 of the Virginia Preservice training was not available for review.
2. The start date for Staff #2 was listed as - 01/05/2024.
3. The Provider stated (during an interview conducted on the date of inspection) that the assistant is currently working on this training.
Plan of Correction: The certificate of completion will be obtained and placed on file.
