Inspector Notes

A subsidy health and safety inspection (SHSI) was initiated on 5/14/2025 and completed on the same date. The inspection started at 10:30 and concluded at 11:30:00. There were 5 children present and 1 caregivers; the point total was 11. The inspector reviewed 5 children?s records and 1 caregiver record.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard 8VAC20-790-180-B
The vendor shall maintain a written hard copy record of daily attendance that documents the arrival and departure of each child in care as it occurs.

The vendor does not have any attendance record that are completed. May has the dates of the month but no names of children or time of drop off and pick up.
Plan of Correction: I tossed the attendance I had for March and did not do it in April because I had a substitute. I will make sure I do the attendance.

Potentially poisonous substances, materials, and supplies such as, but not limited to, cleaning agents, disinfectants, deodorizers, plant care chemicals, pesticides, and petroleum distillates shall be stored away from food in areas inaccessible to children

The Bathroom used for children has a spray bottle of cleaner and a basket of make-up accessible on the counter.
Plan of Correction: I will remove the cleaner and make up

Soiled disposable diapers and wipes shall be disposed of in a leak-proof or plastic-lined storage system.

During the inspection a used diaper was laying on the living room floor where children were playing.
Plan of Correction: Removed during the inspection. The child was getting dressed and i did not realize she had left her diaper on the carpet.

Medication, except for those prescriptions designated otherwise by written physician's order, including refrigerated medication and medications for caregivers and household members, shall be kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children. If a key is used, the key shall be inaccessible to the children.

A bottle of over the counter medication was found on the landing to the basement in the living room. The medication was not accessible to the children. The area is gated off from the children.
Plan of Correction: I think it must have fallen out of my daughters back pack. I moved it.
