An unannounced focused inspection was conducted with the provider from 3:40 to 4:10 pm. Four children were present ( 10 month, 18 months, 21 months and 2 years of age) for a total of 12 points. The children's afternoon snack consisted of bananas, crackers, orange juice/water. There are no medications on site and the provider reported that their have been no injuries/accidents requiring documentation. There are no children present with allergies. The provider reported that her family day home will be closed 6/16/23 to 8/22/23. The areas of non compliance are outlined on the violation notice.
Standard 8VAC20-800-680-A
Based on observation, it was determined that the provider failed to wash their hands before helping a child with feeding.
Plan of Correction: The infant's hands were washed three minutes prior to your coming as I always wash the children's hands right when they wake up from their naps and my hands were washed while you were present during the inspection as I had helped the other children wash their hands before having snack.
