Inspector Notes
A complaint inspection was conducted on 07/12/2023. The inspection consisted of review of video footage, staff interview and record review. The inspector reviewed compliance in the area of supervision, A total of 1 child record and 1 staff record were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with an applicable standard and a violation was documented on the violation notice issued to the program and discussed with the program director during the exit interview.

Based upon review of video and staff interview, the facility has not ensured that the forbidden action of physical punishment, such as striking or roughly handling a child is not used by staff.
Evidence:
1. Video footage revealed that in response to child 1 reaching for a box of flashcards, staff 2 slapped and box out of his hands and. when he reached for the box again, she slapped his hand out of the way.
2. Video recording of staff 2's tone of voice indicated anger as child 1 was sent to his desk away from the table where the activity was occurring .
3. Staff 1 acknowledged that the actions of staff 2 were unacceptable.
