Violations

1
Standard 8VAC20-780-510-E
Based on review of medications and discussions with administration the center failed to ensure that medications were not expired.

Evidence:

The epi-pen for Child B had expired as of 5/23 and was still in the emergency medication box along with the child's current authorization to administer.
Plan of Correction: The parents had already been contacted requesting a new epi-pen, but one had not been provided to date. The medication was removed from the medication box during the inspection and the expired medication will be sent home today.
