Inspector Notes

A monitoring inspection was initiated on 9-21-22 and concluded on 9-21-22. There were 12 children present with 2 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 4 child records and 4 staff records were reviewed. The inspection started at 9:20am and concluded at 11:20am.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard 8VAC20-780-500-B
Based on review of the diaper area the program failed to maintain compliance with this standard regarding a non-hand generated receptacle for soiled diapers.

Evidence:
In the bathroom used for diapering, the trash receptacle was a hand generated diaper genie.
Plan of Correction: A non-hand generated trash receptacle will be purchased and placed in the diapering area for use as required to maintain compliance.
Standard 8VAC20-780-80-A
Based on review of the classroomand facility the program failed to maintain compliance with the standard as required.

Evidence:
There was no daily written record of attendance as required. The daily attendance was only kept electronically.
Plan of Correction: Staff will maintain a written record of daily attendance within the classroom that reflects arrival and departure of the children as required.
