Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 11:30am-1:30pm. There were 197 children (infants-5yrs.) directly supervised by 38 staff. The physical plant, 5 staff records, 5 children?s records, medications, evacuation drills, injury reports, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed participating in group play, circle time, music time, working on crafts, playing outside, napping and eating lunch. Lunch today consisted of Spaghetti with meat sauce, grated cheese, salad and fresh fruit. Diapering and hand-washing procedures were also observed. There was an adequate supply of materials for the children. The center was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified on the Violation Notice.

Based on observation, prepared infant formula was labeled with the child's name, but it did not have a date.

Evidence:
In the infant room, three bottles of prepared infant formula were observed in the refrigerator labeled with the child's name, but they were not labeled with the current date.
Plan of Correction: The infant room teaching teams will be retrained and labels to date bottles will be provided by center. Parents will also be reminded of procedure with posting in classroom.
