Inspector Notes

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.

A monitoring inspection was initiated on 04/29/2021 and concluded on 04/30/2021. The site director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 11 children present and three staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The inspector reviewed two children?s records and two staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

Please complete the 'plan of correction' and 'date to be corrected' for each violation cited on the violation notice and return it to me within 5 business days from the date of receipt. Please specify how the deficient practice will be or has been corrected. Your plan of correction should contain: 1) steps to correct the noncompliance with the standards, 2) measures to prevent the noncompliance from occurring again, and 3) person(s) responsible for implementing each step and/or monitoring any preventative measure(s).

The licensing inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Based on a review of two staff records, the center did not ensure that one staff record contained the required information.

Evidence: 1) The record for Staff #2, hired on 06/17/2019, contained two references that were obtained on 06/21/2019. Each staff record shall include documentation that two or more references as to character and reputation as well as competency were checked before employment or volunteering.
Plan of Correction: Per the Center: "In the future, the office manager will make sure that all references will be checked before individual hired for employment."
