Inspector Notes

A Subsidy Health and Safety monitoring inspection was conducted on June 8, 2023 to review supplemental health and safety requirements. This inspection began at 11:51am and ended at 2:10pm. There were 2 caregivers with 6 children in one room at the time of the visit. At the start of the inspection, children were observed listening to a story and playing with age-appropriate toys. Children and caregiver files, emergency preparedness procedures, fire drill log were reviewed. The physical plant and playground were inspected. There were no medications on site at this time. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Violations

1
Standard 8VAC20-790-180-B
Based on record review and interview, the vendor did not maintain a written hard copy record of daily attendance that documents the arrival and departure of each child in care as it occurs.
Evidence:
1. At the time of inspection (11:51am), there were 5 children documented on daily attendance.
2. Vendor acknowledged there were 6 children present and she had not documented Child #3's arrival time on the daily attendance. Child #3 was added at 11:53am to the daily attendance.
Plan of Correction: Violation corrected during inspection. I will be sure to document each child upon arrival and departure.
