Inspector Notes
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review, interviews and an in person tour of the program was conducted.
A renewal inspection was initiated on March 21, 2022 and concluded on March 23, 2022. The director was contacted by telephone and a inspection was conducted. There were 27 children present, ranging in ages from 4 months to age 5, with 5 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 3 child records and 3 staff records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.
Violations
3Evidence: In the three year old classroom there was one container of hand sanitizer sitting on a shelf and in the multipurpose room there was one container of hand sanitizer sitting on the table. The containers were labeled "keep out of reach of children" and at least one of the other statements "warning", "hazardous", "harmful" and "flammable".
Evidence: The diaper pad in the infant room was observed during inspection and there were four plastic toys sitting on the diaper pad. Center staff indicated they were put there after they were washed and were drying. The diaper pad / table shall only be used for diapering.
Evidence: Snack time was observed in the center and children ages 3 and 4 were served milk and UTZ brand cheese balls. The cheese balls do not meet the USDA food component requirement and therefore only one of the two required food components were served for snack.
