Violations

3
Standard 8VAC20-800-180-A
Based on a review of records, the Provider did not obtain for each caregiver a current Report of Tuberculosis Screening every two years from the date of the first screening.
Evidence:
1. Caregiver #2 had a tuberculosis screening on file dated 8/9/2021.
Plan of Correction: The caregiver will get the TB screening in the next two weeks.
Standard 8VAC20-800-40-A
Based on observation, the provider did not ensure that the total number of children receiving care at any one time does not exceed the maximum licensed capacity of the home.
Evidence:
1. There were 11 children (24 points) present at the time of the inspection. The family day home allows for a capacity of 9 children.
Plan of Correction: We have two children leaving by Monday, so we will have 9 children again. These 2 children were just visiting as a transition. We will make sure we only have 9 children at any time.
Standard 8VAC20-800-830-A
Based on a review of records and Provider interview, emergency evacuation procedures were not practiced monthly with all caregivers and children in care.
Evidence:
1. There was no documentation on file of a July (2023) emergency evacuation drill at the time of the inspection.
2. The Provider stated that a July emergency evacuation drill was not conducted.
Plan of Correction: We will be sure to practice the fire drill every month.
