Inspector Notes

A renewal inspection was conducted on 04/30/2024. There were 40 children present and 9 staff. A tour of the facility was conducted, in addition to a record review and interviews with staff. The Inspector reviewed children?s and staff records, along with any requested program records submitted by the facility to determine if required documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard 8VAC20-780-370
Based on interview the center did not ensure infants receive at least a total of 30 minutes of time spent on the stomach each day.
Evidence:
Infant staff stated they provide 15 minutes of tummy time to the infants daily.
Plan of Correction: The director will remind infant staff that babies are to receive 30 minutes of tummy time per day.
Standard 8VAC20-780-440-H
Based on observation the center did not ensure all crib requirements were met.
Evidence:
Two infants were observed sleeping in cribs with more than an inch of space between the mattress and the crib in one of the corners.
Plan of Correction: The director will remind staff to flatten out the crib mattresses before a baby in put to sleep inside of it to ensure there is no more than 1 inch of space between the mattress and the crib.
