Inspector Notes

An unannounced subsidy health and safety inspection was conducted on April 3, 2023, beginning at 1:15pm and ending at 2:30pm. No children were in attendance at the time of the inspection. Required background searches, training certificates and household member information was reviewed. A sample of requirements for daily attendance, child information/records, emergency preparedness planning and supplies were also reviewed. No medication on sight. The information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or laws and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the vendor. Standard 8VAC20-790-270-A
Based on observation, potentially poisonous substances, materials and supplies such as, but not limited to, cleaning agents, disinfectants, and deodorizers, were not stored in areas inaccessible to children.
Evidence:
1. Cleaning supplies (bleach, scrub cleaner, and detergent) were stored in the bathroom cabinet that is accessible to children.
Plan of Correction: I will move them so they are out of reach for children.
Standard 8VAC20-790-410-A-1
Based on observation and interview, it was determined the first aid kit did not contain at a minimum a digital thermometer.
Evidence: 1. No digital thermometer was in the fist aid kid.
2. The provider stated they did not have a digital thermometer.
Plan of Correction: I will buy a new thermometer and I plan to buy a new first aid kit.
