Inspector Notes

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review, interviews and a virtual tour of the program.

A monitoring inspection was conducted on September 8, 2021. The owner was contacted by telephone and a virtual inspection was conducted. There were 39 children, ranging in age from 2 months to 5 years, present and in the care of seven staff. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies. A total of 3 children's records and 3 staff records were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and the violation was documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Based on review of three staff records and verification from the owner, the center failed to obtain one of the required out-of-state background checks for one new staff member.

Evidence:
1. The record for Staff Member #2 did not contain the results of a sex-offender search from the state she had lived in within the last five years. Date of hire for Staff Member #2 was 08/23/2021.
2. The owner verified that a sex-offender search had not been conducted.
Plan of Correction: The center will obtain a sex offender search as soon as possible and send the results to the inspector once they are received.
