Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today between the hours of 10:15 am through 11:15 am. There were a total of six children (--14 points) observed with two caregivers. A total of four children's files and three staff/household member's files were reviewed. The children were engaged in the following: toy play, snack, bathroom breaks, hand washing, and other organized activities. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the violation notice. Based on record review, staff did not have current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation as appropriate to the age of the children in care.
Evidence:
1. Caregiver #2 did not have current cardiopulmonary resuscitation(CPR). Caregiver #2's CPR expired in 12/02/2022.
Plan of Correction: The staff member will sign up for a CPR class immediately.

Based on record review, staff did not have current first aid.
Evidence:
1. Caregiver #2 did not have current first aid. Caregiver #2's first aid certification expired on 12/02/2022.
Plan of Correction: The staff will sign up for a first aid class immediately.

Based on observation and interview, an operable landline telephone was not accessible during the family day home's hours of operation.
Evidence:
1. A landline telephone was not accessible during the family day home's hours of operation.
2. Caregiver #1 confirmed that the family day home did not have a landline telephone at the time of the inspection. The family day home only has a cell phone for use.
Plan of Correction: The provider will get a landline telephone.

Evidence:
1. The findings of the most recent inspection of the facility was not posted. The last inspection was conducted on 09/16/2022, but the inspection findings for 01/06/2022 was posted in the family day home.
