Violations
1Standard 8VAC20-780-400-B
Based on interviews and review of video recordings it was determined that behavioral guidance was not always appropriate and constructive in nature. Evidence: On 02/16/2022 child A is seen playing at a table. Staff A then attempts to verbally redirect child A (Age: 3 years) to a different location. When the child does not move Staff A forcefully places their hands on the back of child A to guide them to a different area. Child A then falls down on their knees. Staff A is then seen raising their arms and saying "what happened?" to indicate that child A fell down by mistake. Staff A is not seen on video comforting child A. Child A did not sustain any injuries.
Plan of Correction: We immediately added positive guidance training to our professional development day that was held on 02/21/2022. All staff took training including Staff A.
