Inspector Notes
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted from 12:45 pm - 2:15 pm. There were 112 children in care being supervised by 12 staff. The children were observed participating in free play and resting. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 6 child records and 5 staff records were reviewed.

Based on observation of the playground it was determined that not all areas were maintained in safe condition. Evidence: Landscape mesh was observed protruding from the mulch throughout the playground posing a tripping hazard.

Based on review of medication it was determined that not all procedures for administering prescription medication were followed. Evidence: The emergency medications for child A and child B were not in the original container with a prescription label indicating instructions pertaining to dosage, frequency and manner of administration.

Based on review of medication it was determined that not all medication was picked up within 14 days when the authorization for medication expires. Evidence: The medication and medication authorization form for child C expired November 2022.
