Inspector Notes

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents in review, and an interview with staff. Due to technical issues, the virtual tour of the program could not be conducted.

A Subsidy Health and Safety Inspection (SHSI) was initiated on and concluded on 09/02/2021. There were 30 children present with 10 staff supervising, within 4 separate classrooms. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date. Both inspections combined cover subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection.

Information gathered during the inspection determined a non-compliance with an applicable standard. A violation was documented on the Violation Notice issued to the center.

Based on review, it was determined that 4 of 5 staff files did not include the updated health and safety course certificate that was obtained on an annual basis.

Evidence -
1. On the date of inspection (09/02/2021), the following are the current health and safety course certificates on file: Staff #2 dated - 04/21/2019; Staff #3 dated - 03/31/2019; Staff #4 dated - 08/01/2019; and Staff #5 dated - 08/01/2019.
2. This was confirmed on the date of inspection by the owner.
Plan of Correction: All applicable staff shall complete this training annually.
