Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 11:15am-12:15pm. There were 29 children directly supervised by 3 staff and all classrooms were in ratio. The physical plant, outdoor playground area, programming, menus, 3 staff records, 5 children?s records, emergency drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. The center reported no medications were on site. Children were observed resting on cots during naptime. There was an abundant supply of age appropriate materials for the children. The center was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice.

Based on staff interview, the center did not ensure that the facility was equipped with at least one carbon monoxide detector.

Evidence: The center did not have a carbon monoxide detector on site.
Plan of Correction: Will buy two and install.

Based on record review, the center did not obtain a physical examination for each child before the child's first day of attendance or within one month after attendance.

Evidence: Child #3 (First Day of Attendance: 7/28/2020) did not have a physical examination on file.
Plan of Correction: Child has until Friday 4/8 to obtain physical or removal of student until received.

Based on observation, staff interview, and documentation review, the center did not ensure that there was at least one staff in each classroom or area where children are present that has current first aid training.

Evidence: There were three staff present at the time of inspection and none of the staff have current first aid training.
Plan of Correction: First Aid class will be scheduled.
