Inspector Notes

Thank you for your assistance during this unannounced monitoring inspection. This on-site visit was conducted on December 13, 2022 from 11:00 a.m., through 12:30 p.m. Upon arrival, there were 18 children, ages 10 months through 4, in the care of 5 staff. Four children and seven staff records were reviewed and updated.

Areas observed were: story time, hand washing/bathroom and diapering procedures, free choice activities, infant feeding, lunch and nap. The center is well equipped with a variety of age/stage materials for the children in care. Children appear to be well aware of the daily routine and schedule.

Based on observation the center was offering a snack to a child under three years of age that is considered to be a potential choking hazard.

Evidence:

1. Six gummy bears were observed on a highchair in the older infant room.
2. Staff stated the gummy bears were brought in by a parent for their child, age 1, to have for a snack.
3. The director confirmed the gummy bears were brought in by the parent.
